What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser to remember something between visits. This site uses very few, and none of them are advertising cookies.

Necessary storage

A single technical preference called eg-cookies is stored in your browser's local storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so you are not asked again on every visit. It lasts twelve months, never leaves your device and cannot identify you. As it exists purely to honour your choice, it requires no consent.

Analytics cookies

Only if you accept, Google Analytics 4 is loaded and sets the _ga and _ga_<id> cookies, lasting up to two years. They count visitors in aggregate and show which pages are read. IP anonymisation is on and all advertising signals are off: nothing is shared with Google Ads or used for ad targeting.

What this site does not do

There are no advertising cookies, no social network pixels, no third-party buttons that track you and no embedded videos setting cookies. If you reject analytics, no third-party script is loaded at all.

How to accept or reject

The first time you visit, a discreet notice appears in the bottom corner with accept and reject options. Until you choose, analytics stays off. You can change your mind at any time through the Cookie preferences link in the footer.

From your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, under the privacy section in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. Note that clearing the site's storage also clears your preference, so the notice will appear again.
